67 seat back chrome strip

Can this strip be removed without risking damage to the plastic seat back? Are they rechromed or are good repros available? Is it wiser to just polish what you have without trying to remove it from the seat back?

Very simple to remove and re-install. I removed the seats...four bolts, ten minute job. Once out remove the four screws holding the chrome "hockey sticks", this will release the seat back. simply pull the chrome trim off and repair/polish or replace. What's wrong with your current trim? My trim pieces are covered with little rust spots that I may be able to polish, but it looks like they would return soon. I have original green seat backs that I would not like to crack in the process of removing the chrome.
