I just purchased a 64 and when you pull the headlight switch the parking lights come on, but when you go to the next notch the headlights light up but neither will open. Car is in excellent condition. What can I check?

Re: 64 headlights will not open
John
you missed the Sting Ray orientation class. Hanging underneath the cluster is a rocker switch marked Headlights.
It is roughly underneath the lights switch. You must roll the rocker forward and back to make the buckets roll up and down.
This operation is also described in your owners manual in the glove box.- Top

Re: 64 headlights will not open
John,
When you engage the rocker switch that Don is referring to watch the movement of the headlight buckets, if they do not move at a steady pace, or one significantly lags behind, does not move at all or does not fully rotate to the full open position DO NOT HOLD THE SWITCH in the on (open) position - if you do that one or both motors will suffer some serious damage.Ed- Top
