Mike,
Do you still need these screws? I have 2 clutch head screws that are 10X24X3/4 if you need them.

Re: source for 10-24 clutch head machine screws needed
Mike,
I recently overhauled my 3810 Holley with new gaskets, and found that some of the clutch head screws holding the metering plate to the body were loose and had worn threads on the screws and in the body. So I went to the hardware store and got some stainless steel flathead Phillips screws of the same thread but slightly longer.
They worked just fine and really tightened up the metering plate. Used some blue Loctite.
So if you are in a bind!Jerry Fuccillo

Holley was once-upon-a-time infamous for using these crazy clutch head screws at certain locations on their carburetors. To make matters worse, some were an oddball driver size and it was near impossible to find a clutch head screwdriver that would fit. Way back in the summer of 1968 I was in Los Angeles for a week's vacation with my almost new 1968 Chevelle SS 396 when the carburetor went bad on me. I went to a Chevrolet dealership in Eagle Rock (Citizen's Chevrolet) expecting them to fix or replace it under warranty. They told me that the carburetor was not covered by the warranty. I was young and foolish and accepted that. So, I figured I was on my own and decided to rebuild the carburetor myself. I had no problem finding a kit. But, when I got into the carb I ran into the clutch head screws. I didn't even know what they were at the time but I finally got that figured out. Then, I went all over LA looking for a clutch head screwdriver of the appropriate size. I looked high and low and never found one. Finally, I went to a carburetor shop that I figured was certain to have the tool to have them remove the screws for me. The guy told me he's never found the tool, either, and showed me how he just jammed a slotted screwdriver in the clutch head to remove and install the screws.
I hope I never, ever see a clutch head screw again. I expect that Mike's interest in them is for originality purposes as C1 Corvettes have these things originally used here-and-there. So, I say that except for originality folks should use your suggestion and use a different drive type screw. A screw of the same size and type but with a phillips head will replace a clutch head PERFECTLY.
By the way, I think that Holley gave up on clutch head screws a long time ago. I don't think they use them, even on reproduction carbs which originally used some clutch head screws. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: source for 10-24 clutch head machine screws needed
Joe, Interesting story thanks for that fun read, but I'm sure it wasn't a fun experience back then.
Believe it or not, Holley continues to use the clutch heads screws. Additionally, the last new 2300 I had to open had nearly every clutch head screw loose. I have many clutch head bits and drivers as I work on the C1's much, and fortunately had the correct size. I torqued them using my in/lb wrench. Years ago I found that CL2 yellow handle driver(pic below) at a yard sale. I knew some day I would need it and it has come in handy many times.
Many RV manufacturers still use clutch head drivers. However, those typical sizes do not match the old GM sizes. A truly mysterious fastener design.

Re: source for 10-24 clutch head machine screws needed
Rich,
Very interesting.
A while back I was buying 3/8 drive clutch head drivers (short and long shafts) at swap meets and selling them on Ebay.
I never could find the importer so I retired from selling them.
I will post a pic. later.
Hope all is well.
