Scuff Mark in White Top - How to Fix / Hide?

Is there any way to (short of replacing the top) repair / hide / reduce a scuff mark in a newly installed white top (1958)?

Don't ask me how I did it, we'll just chalk it up to being an idiot........

Six days away from judging too.....

    It is not dirt.

Tom, Maybe before you do anything call Al Knoch or his son Elliot and ask. If no help......

I'd test a test/inconspicuous area with Wesley's Bleech White on a microfiber cloth. It's for whitewalls but I've used it on white tops before.

Also in a test area if that doesn't work, a q-tip dipped in acetone, verrrry lightly.

I will second Patrick's suggestion. It has worked well for me.

Since I had some scrap material left over I tried to duplicate the scuff mark (without much success) and found that the magic rub eraser had the best result among a couple things I tried. I even tried using some wax figuring it would fill in the black cracks and dry white. Mixed results.

Used the Magic Rub eraser on the car top and it reduced the "visual impact" of the scuff a lot. Glancing at the top you wont see it unless you start looking for it.

          Thanks for the suggestions!

          Regards,
          Tom

Pat, would the Magic Eraser be OK on the material dots?

I'm assuming you mean the texture of the material?

I have not found it to harm that at all.

Magic Eraser is a good product, I have two white interior cars and they can work magic on seats and door panels.
