    Camber Bolts on 1969 Corvette

I've recently purchased a 1969 Corvette Coupe and was going to replace the camber bolts. When I removed them I noticed that they were .500" in diameter while the bushing I.D. was .625". Why is there the disparity in size? Thanks in advance for any information....greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Kenneth,
    WELCOME!!!! First Post!
Glad you've come to the Discussion Board!
I believe the bolt and bushing is designed so that the special flanged washer on each side of the rubber bushing transfers the load from the bushing to the bolt. The bolt needs to be free to move in the bushing slightly for that to occur.
The strut rod needs to be free to twist slightly as it follows the arc the trailing-arm travels in.
    Regards,
    Alan
