Number of 66s made with my option package

I am trying to establish the number of 66 big blocks that were made with my expansive list of options. Is there a way to do this without the use of hiring a programmer to calculate probabilities derived from details in the black book? Thank you

The only method is interpolation, which is highly inaccurate anyway. Here was a previous discussion of that:

You could hire a room full of programmers and statisticians and, statistically speaking, only have a one in a million chance of them getting it right.

I laugh every time I see a '1 of X made' signboard next to an older Corvette.

In addition to the above regarding production numbers, and not trying to stir the pot, but how do you know your car was born with all those options versus added later in its life. That too factors in to rareness.

Yes well to state a definitive number would be comedic. However, when one establishes a baseline with a rare option then it is mathematically possible to establish a relatively narrow range of possible production units when one has the original sales document in possession as I do. Please follow up with me if interested as I hire quants from my alma mater to do the analysis.

You may have missed last thread. Original authenticated sales receipt including discussion with original owner. Is there a better way?

All I try to do is look at the one rarest option my cars have and go with that. That at least is accurate.

That is my starting point Michael. Completely agree. I will work on deriving a more mathematical system that will allow for a range of possibilities within a statistically sound tolerance for the benefit of Corvette Nation. Have good night

No. Assuming there's been no additions or deletions, it's still impossible trying to calculate how every other car in a given model year was built. Without knowing that, it's impossible to know how many were built identical to yours.

If 'close enough' is adequate, I'd say your car is one in 10.

Statistically my car is less than one of one, so I have to go in the garage to see if it really exists.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. But other than assuming each option choice is independent of the others, then multiplying the frequency of all options together, there's not much more that can be done. Of course, the assumption that the probability of each option is independent of all the others is not even close to true. So the calculation result isn't either.

They are all 1 of 1 with each having a unique VIN.

As I've said many times before, if you consider all of the options available, colors, interiors, etc. for C2 and C3 Corvettes, just about every car was probably unique or, at least, one of only a handful manufactured.
