'57 rear axle question..

Does anyone out there know how many splines are on a '57 positraction axle? Also whatever the number is, does the number of splines vary from Posi to non-posi or they do they all have the same amount? Below is an illustration of what I'm talking about but I'm not sure what car this one fits. Thanks for any help.

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 56-62 Coevette rear axles (and 55-64 pass car and 62-63 Chevy II) are 17spline, are the same size and are interchangeable into 56-62 Corvette rearend center sections (as well as 55-64 pass car rearends).
There are different lengths and different applications for BOTH axles and axle bearings. How deep do you want me to go into detail on these early rears? I've been rebuilding and working on them for over 50yrs.
