    58 - 60 antenna fender bracket

Can anyone post a photo of the correct way the clip at the bottom of the antenna shaft mounts to the fender bracket on a 1958 to 1960? Mine doesn't seem to be lining up. Any photos of bowtie cars?

Thanks very much Stephen. That shows things more clearly. The interior angle of the bracket faces the fender which is as depicted in the AIM and Service Manual. Then and the ground strap attaches through the same screw that secures the mast staff to the bracket. My remaining question is that the bracket has two oval screw holes one of which is horizonal to the bracket and the other is at a 45 degree angle. Which hole goes to the fender and which to the mast clip?

Keith on my car the horizontal goes to the mast clip. I believe the oval holes in the bracket allows for some adjustment in positioning the antenna shaft.

Thanks Steve. I think that the bracket mount hole might be in the wrong place. When I put the car together 20 years ago, I screwed the clip to the fender and may have drilled a hole to make it fit. I found another hole closer to the fender and about 3" higher than where yours is mounted. Wondering if that may be the original bracket hole? Mounting it here would raise the clip to about 1 1/2" below the cable connection.

Thanks for your help today Steve. I believe I figured it out. When I located the original bracket mount hole, the bracket mated up perfectly with the mast clip.

Keith: I have owned my car for forty three years, the body has never been off the frame. I look all over the inner fender wall for evidence of another hole that might have been drilled and found none. I don't know if these holes were drilled prior to installation or if they were randomly drilled when the antenna was installed. But if that's were it fits go with it. (looks good).
