C2 Parts question - antenna cable

The original antenna cable for my 66 is part #3832331. With some research on the forum I found a reference that this part was replaced by #3866077.

What I believe is the original 3832331 for my car is bad so I need a replacement.

The 3832331 has a knurled knob at the antenna end. I have found what is advertised as a NOS 3866077 (no picture) and the ad says it has a hex nut end.

Anyone have a 3866077 that can tell me for sure whether the end is knurled knob or hex? And, once the exhaust is in place can that end even be seen for judging?

    Thanks,
    Don

The GM #3866077 has a flat-sided "round" nut at the antenna end. Keep in mind that a GM SERVICE part for a particular application (but, perhaps, as the original PRODUCTION part for a later application) is not necessarily the same in all aspects of configuration as the original part used for that application. In fact, if the part number changes, that almost always signifies some change in the part, configuration or otherwise.

      Thanks Joe, that helps.

Jerry Rudbeck rebuilt my radio before he got out of that business. He is very skeptical about any reproduction cables.

Corvette Central advertises a correct replacement for the 3832331, i.e. knurled knob at the antenna end, correct RG62U cable and correct capacitor integral to the cable.

I also found a listing from a smaller corvette parts supplier that says they have an NOS 3866077. I inclined to just get this one and not worry about the nut configuration at the antenna end.

      Thanks,

      Don
