    first flight judging event question

My '67 will be judged shortly. One question, the delivery dealership put a small
numbered sticker on the back side of the rear view mirror. It's been left on, I think
of it as part of the car's history and feel it should be left on. Any opinions? Will
    points be deducted?

    Thank you,
    Kathy

A possible deduction? yes. A significant amount of points in the scheme of things? probably not.

As Steve said, maybe a point. There is 10 points on originality and 8 on condition. So probably a point on the originality side.

If you miss top flight over one or two points caused by that sticker you have other problems I would be worried about.

Don't change anything you like about your car for judging. You will regret it if you do.

And, welcome to the club and the Tech Discussion Board.

+1, and if I were the chapter judge there is no way I would deduct anything for that.

Let's look at it a bit differently. It is my understanding that if a luggage rack is installed when you get your car judged there is not deduction for the luggage rack but a minor deduct for the missing fiberglass where they drilled the holes to mount the rack. Using this logic, there was nothing removed, just a small sticker added. Can't imagine a deduction, possibly just a "dot" for mention.

Seeing a sticker on a piece of chrome will be automatic alarm to me that a defect in the chrome is being covered up..........

Assuming not and you want the decal to stay, you must understand it is not TFP.

If the sticker has truly been there since original delivery it can be considered to be part of that dealer's pre-delivery prep. This is the standard used for NCRS Flight Judging. Do not remove the sticker. I can't imagine any experienced judge taking a deduct for it.

I am not sure that this applies. The terminology is typical or normal dealer prep. If Chevrolet instructed all dealers to apply a stick, then I would agree.

                        This is just my opinion.

In case you were wondering, yes a deduction, but as also mentioned,
not much in the scheme. Yes, the car got Top Flight.
