Doing a frame off on a 1969 convertible and have a question on the steel angle support that is installed inside the 'nose' section in the front. The car has been been painted in the past so I can not determine, what was the original finish on the steel support and should it have some 'over spray' on it? Thanks for any information. Steve

If you're talking about the slightly "V" shaped reinforcement which is riveted to the surround panel, it was dip painted semi-gloss black. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 Front Support Finish
Hi Steve,
Because the reinforcement was bonded in place when the body was painted and it's location, there was the possibility that particularly the surface that faced the engine compartment could have some body color overspray on it.
