1963 Firewall insulation

Do the rubber holders that hold the insulation have a sealer on the engine side to keep it from leaking? Also is the part for the gas pedal that is on the engine side of the firewall painted when blackout was done? Thanks in advance.

Jerry, IF I remember correctly there is a rubberized spray around them as does the rubber boot that the tach. cable goes through, and the outside heater box.
