Can you negotiate on better price with OnStar? Corvettes or Other GM's

We all know that GM's OnStar is not the best system but it is what it is. My subscription
is running out and we know that the closer it gets to run out the better deal you can get.
Question: How far can you push OnStar for the best price? If you go to the last day will they
offer you a deal you can not refuse? Anybody tried this? Thanks in advance-Larry

I've even had it shut off and within a week or so I'm getting letters to get back on. I call and get the $25.00 for 6 months deal. I've done this deal about 3 times now. I like it but I can live without it too.

+1. Have had the same experience as Larry shares. I also suspend the service for the winter when the car is in storage. Hope this helps.

With the I-phones today I no longer subscribe to On-Star. When the 2014 LaCrosse free On-Star expired I never renewed it.
        Do like the XM-Serius though.

They keep bugging me to get the free OnStar for my 2013 truck, and I probably should. However, I'd not ever pay for it.

My dime's worth...There's no right or wrong; it all depends what value you place on it. I'm not going to write a book, but I can tell you OnStar has pulled my bacon...and my wife's, when she was alone, out of the fire, more times than I can count over the years. I don't have it on my old Vette, but my general purpose vehicles have OnStar Directions and Connections. Like insurance...you can't buy it when you need it.

I don't have OnStar on any vehicle since, except for the '69 Corvette, I don't own a GM car but I would bet that it is no different than Sirrius radio or the cable company in that their top priority is to keep you as a customer. What I have been doing for several years on my Chrysler and Ford is to call them the day before the current promotion ends and request a cancellation. They always ask for the reason and I say I won't pay the regular price. They then offer me a small discount and then I again request to cancel and tell them that I will wait for the follow up letter that will offer the low price I want (usually $25 for 6 months). The representative then says that it is not possible to get that price and I again say to cancel. The rep then says he will check with a supervisor and comes back and says that the low price has been approved. Same scenario every time. The same is true with UVerse. They just want to keep you on and a small price per month is better than none at all since their advertising rates are based on number of subscribers.

                Bang on, Jeff.

I just did this on Friday. It's time to put my Grand Sport away for the winter, and coincidently, I received a letter from OnStar subscription last week. Thinking about this thread, I called OnStar, and at the end of the short discussion, I had successfully paused the remainder of my current subscription AND bought my next term for half price. Soon, I'll be calling Sirius to pause my satellite radio subscription. I'm confident I'll again be able to negotiate a better deal than their first offer.
