Looking at this 65 327/365 but the Vin Tag rivets bother me and the pad stamp, even with some paint seems suspicious.

The pad and TT look OK.........the VIN rivets not so much.

I assume that the VIN on the pad matches the tag?

According to a Vin Decoder the car body build date was 29 March 1965.

On the Trim Tag I am not sure what the H29 means , but I am guessing March 29th.

Pad stamp has a February 16Th


And the VIN is a april buld number.

Does any of this make sense to you?


Also someone told me, I do not know if it is trues that the rosette rivets where not used in the early 65"s, I do not know if this is a true statement.

Have a Judging guide or a 66 but not a 65.

I believe early cars had round rivets and later cars had rosette rivets in 1965. Not sure exactly what the change over to early and late is but #11045 has rosette rivets.

Rosette rivets were used starting about VIN 10000 in 65. IMHO the round rivets in the photo are definitely not typical and I've looked at literally 1000's over the years for my 65-67 database. Those two facts tell me that the VIN tag has probably been removed at one time. The trim tag date and body number match up pretty well. The VIN rivets will always put this car under suspicion.
