I need to purchase a radiator for my project. While searching I found a big difference in price between the copper/brass and the Dewitt's aluminum. My question is there that much difference in performance between the two?

Yes, there is. Aluminum radiators cool significantly better than copper/brass. Of course, no 1956 was originally fitted with an aluminum radiator. But, if you wish to improve cooling performance, use an aluminum direct fit.

If you are building a project 56 there is no reason to use a copper/brass radiator. Seek out the several companies that advertise on e-bay or Google and purchase an aftermarket radiator. There are several that make Corvette Aluminum radiators at great prices. Champion, Griffin, Be Cool, Davis and people like Jegs, Eklers and Summit.

DeWitts makes the best Corvette radiators in original or replacement configurations.

I think my decision is going to be the Dewitt even though aluminum was not correct for 56.
