    Hector,

Did you call the Hagerty main office yet? That is is where you should start the complaint rather than the forum.

I for one, appreciate info, good or bad, about experiences with dealers, parts vendors or insurance companies from actual customers and not filtered through some cyberhyped review web site or the perpetrator of the issue...

According to post #12 it's not the insured's job to let the insurance company know when their contractors have failed to perform a quality service. I agree with you. I make a point out of communicating to people I deal with both if I'm happy or not happy with their service. I'd rather help to make the product that I purchased better than to be the one that always waits for the other guy to take the first step then complain when they don't.

I doubt service would differ because of the middleman called (AAA, an insurance company, etc.). It's about who shows up. And it's the luck of the draw if and when a competent driver does show up.

I've called AAA road service twice in the past few years. Each time, the response time was over an hour even though I was in Dallas and the call was during normal business hours. On one occasion, the first responder didn't know how to pull the Corvette onto the flatbed without damaging the body. This meant waiting two more hours for a second tow truck company.

I learned to be patient, carefully manage the work, and have low expectations.

            Frank,

Hopefully I didn't offend you with my post. My apologies if I did.

First of all, as I stated at the start of this thread "Several members expressed a desire to hear from other members regarding their experience with these companies." I read previous posts on this topic in part to check and see if posting this information might run afoul of protocol and if it made any sense posting my experience here. The search left me with the impression that it would not and that members wanted this kind of information.

In addition like Frank, I think it is a good idea to share both good and bad experience with these companies with other members. If I had know about someone else's bad experience with Hagerty and the good service AAA provides, I would not have signed up for Hagerty's towing service. I think it's good to have as much information as possible when making these decisions. You can filter whatever you want out.

Also, I don't have much time now, but I'll follow up later with some additional information I wanted to share with members. Let me just say in answer to the question, Yes I did call Hagerty.

On the date of the incident, I called Hagerty back, and in fact asked to speak to a manager/supervisor. I was told one would be called. I was placed on hold and eventually did speak to another person who I believe was a manager or supervisor at Hagerty. As already stated, they were “
unapologetic and did not sound as if (they were)interested in hearing anything further”. Apparently, that has been at least one other members experience as well.

The next day, after my incident, I prepared a draft, similar to what I posted here on our discussion board and sent it to Hagerty. I waited over a week before I decided to share my experience with the members here. I did so primarily to give Hagerty an opportunity to be heard. To date, I have not heard from Hagerty other than a form message indicating they had received my “photo submission”. I didn’t send them any photos. What do you think Frank? You think they paid much attention to my complaint?

As I said, I have more to add but it will have to wait until later.

I have J.C. Taylor antique auto insurance, does anyone here had any experience with their towing expertise? Thanks, Patrick
