    Aero-Rivet II tool question

    Hello all,

I just bought the Aero-Rivet II tool to install the rivets in the window post fuzzies on a 58. Question is there are a number of rivet tool base & head sizes / shapes with the tool itself, can someone tell me the correct base & head fitting pieces to use for the window post fuzzie rivets?

    Thanks,

    Doug

    Re: Aero-Rivet II tool question

Doug, I don't know if different tool heads are available or not, but setting those channel rivets doesn't necessarily require a special tool. The tool is ideal for hard to reach areas like distributor shield clips, etc though.

Attached, on Page 9, is how I set them for the channels.

          Wow, thanks again.

And a note; I found the window glass black rubber material from Corvette suppliers too thick to easily slip the glass into the window frame, and not exactly correct. I found at Late Great Chevy for full size Chevy the material for window wing vent windows to be correct and the right thickness for C1 Vettes. It is the correct rubber & cork material. My 58 windows slipped in smoothly and you can see the correct rubber / cork edges when done.

          Tks. Doug

Nice! If you have a link or part# to post that'd be good to know for the next time I do the glass on them.

            Thanks,
            Rich

              Hey Rich,

Eckler's "Late Great Chevy" section. Part # 165513. For 58-72 full size Chevy. 3/64" thick, rubber & cork correct material.

And the actual company who makes this is C R Laurance Company, you can get different thicknesses also.

              Tks. Doug
