Re: 1964 FI with TI Starting Problem
Hugh, The '63 FI shop manual is poorly written concerning this leak. They tell you that the fuel meter can be removed on the car without taking the FI unit off. Really a bunch of incorrect info.
Remove the fuel meter and the spider as one assembly. Then when it's on the workbench you can work on it like a gentleman. Remove the spider from the fuel meter. First take a pic of it so when you re-install it you have the spider at the right angle.
To assembly you do the reverse. Install the fuel meter and spider as an assembly.
Forgot this very important step. Test this assembly by flow testing Before you put in on the plenum. Reason being is after you get the whole unit back to together and you have an o'ring leak you want to kill yourself as you just blew hours of labor. John- Top

Re: 1964 FI with TI Starting Problem
I'm looking forward to finding a correct coil. I again started the car this afternoon and it kicked off in 2 to 3 seconds!! If I have any more electrical problems I'm going to pull the bulkhead connector as suggested by another member. I have that connector apart about 7 years ago and I'm pretty generous with dielectric and my pins were in great shape. Good luck once you start your adventure.- Top
