I see in the judging sheet you can earn bonus points for a battery disconnect switch?
Are they referring to something like this?

Make sure you buy a quality switch like what Restoration Battery sells ($12). I've used them on many vehicles for over 30 years and never had a problem. The switches sold at swap meets for a couple bucks are the ones that give people problems.

Agree with Paul. I have had a Wirth post type disconnect on my '59 for over 25 years and it is still working fine.

There is a reason points are awarded for having a battery cut off switch. Even if you do not plan to have your car judged, a cut off switch is a MUST HAVE safety feature. It may save your garage & house from burning down some day. Insurance companies should offer a premium discount if you have one.

And don't forget, the bonus points are awarded for the package of three items, the shut-off switch, a fire extinguisher, and the NCRS decal on your window. Good luck and welcome!

As I recall if you have 2 of the 3 you get 6 points or 1 of the 3 you get 3 points and 3 of 3 gets you 10 points
