Doing a frame off on a 1969 350/350 and working on engine bay area. The car does not have AC. On C60 E4 page 346 of the Assemble Manual there are 2 pieces attached to the firewall on the drivers side as shown in View A. Bracket 6 that holds the Reservoir ASM was clearly zinc plated. Part 7 Shield looks like it is 'galvanized' with black overspray on it. I would appreciate any confirmation on the finish for these 2 pieces. Thanks in advance for any information. Steve Morrow

I don't understand this question, at all. In one sentence you say the car does not have AC. In the next sentence you reference a page in the C-60 section of the AIM. Nothing in the C-60 section of the AIM is applicable to a car without C-60.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 AC Bracket Finishes
Joe,
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. These 2 pieces look like they were installed when the body was originally put together with rivets installed from the inside. Nothing on the car indicates that AC was ever installed. Would these pieces have been installed on all bodies in case that body would be a AC car? Anyone else have a 1969 without AC that could look at their car. The Shield piece would be difficult to see with the vacuum tank in place. Thanks for any information. Steve Morrow- Top

I have a non C-60 1969 that I have owned since new. It certainly does not have these brackets installed and I highly doubt that any non-C-60 cars had them. Much more likely is that the front end on this car was replaced at some point with a complete from clip from a donor car that was equipped with C-60.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I double-checked and my 1969 definitely does not have these brackets. The only thing I can figure is, as I mentioned previously, the front clip was previously replaced with a donor from a C-60 car. Other than that, I suppose it could have been a factory mistake. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 AC Bracket Finishes
Joe,
Thanks for double checking on this question. The car looks good and who ever fixed the front clip did a great job. I will just fill the rivet holes and move on with the restoragion. Kinda aggravated since several people looked at the car and nobody caught this. Oh well, I will know more the next time. Thanks for your help. Steve- Top
