1954 spark plugs

Does anyone know the original plugs for the 54 are judged? if so which ones are they?

The plus are listed in the JM
smooth AC #44-5 with the Corolox emblem up to mid 54 production
after mid 54 the Corolox emblem disappeared
They are a fat body type plug

u will be asked to remove the upper half of the ignition shielding before judging begins. mike

Al the upper cover is removed for judging - as they also inspect the coil, wires, dist cap, and rotor and distributor base plate. Most people just leave it off as its a PITA....

Thanks guys...good to know. I was hoping that wouldn't happen. I just bought some clorox plugs 1953 dated box.. but I have another set that doesn't have clorox on it..or a date but look the same. . not sure if this is the same as the bleach company...but which set do the judges want.

The spark plugs are smooth ribbed and are 44-5 and have coralax on the side too.
