What is this on a heater

Yesterday I asked for help with what I was thinking was a heater resister Brian Tilles was kind enough to answer Thank You. This was on a 1957, it look like a condenser its brass with a bracket soldered to it. It has about a 2" piece of wire soldered to it, with a male electrical blade connector in a rubber boot. The other end has about a 12" piece of wire soldered to it. The end of wire has a female connector, embedded in a water tight rubber boot. I had tagged it, which I found today 1957 heater motor and goes under hood. I am think the fire wall. What is it and where does it go? Thank You Fred
