Didn't know you picked up a 67. It looks stunning. SO original under that hood. Very very nice.....AC with TI is rare to begin with, let alone all the other options...Very nice. Happy Birthday...ARA

Rocco, Nice car and Happy Birthday. Wonder if you could post a pic of the N11 mufflers if you think they are original to the car. Thanks

Nice to see another L79, C60, well optioned coupe has survived for 50 years...and, in your case so amazingly original. What a terrific find and a well deserved "Happy Birthday"!!!

In reference to the N11 mufflers, I know the right side has been replaced twice. Once on 1/29/69 and again on 9/25/73. I know this since I have the original receipts from a Chevy dealer, Part Number 3845736 and the 2 original pipes, less mufflers. The right side muffler does have some markings, both stamped and in yellow stenciled letters. See attached photos. The left side muffler has no markings and I am not sure if it is original. I think it is quite unusual that only the right side was replaced twice in 6 years and not the left side. Does the heat riser valve cause one side to rot out before the other? Do original mufflers have any markings? I didn't see any evidence of "blackout" on the left muffler. The N11 mufflers sound great by the way.

I did do some light restoration work under the hood. A new water pump and fuel pump, spark plugs & wires, battery cables, hoses & belts as a safety precaution. Work also included a carburetor rebuild and alternator rebuild. And lots of cleaning with non abrasive cleaners. I did have to repaint the front of the engine as the timing chain cover was rusted so badly that I feared it would develop holes and leak. Other work included a complete overhaul of the brake system, Trailing Arm service (by Bairs), leaf spring restoration, half shaft U-Joint replacement and new shocks. I kept all the original components I removed for rebuild and re-installation one day. All of this work was done so I could drive safely and enjoy the car. No plans for a full restoration at this time. Plans for this season include installation of a DeWitte's radiator and A/C Service.

Stay tuned as I have submitted an article to the Corvette Restorer that will be published in a future issue. It explains how I found and purchased the car.

Rocco, Thanks for the pics. Yes the right side does seam to rot faster I think because of the heat riser. The left side if original I think should have an A on it. I picked up an original set of 64 N11 from Bloomington last summer for a guy, 12000 mile, no rust what so ever and the only marking on them was the A. Just like to get feed back from original cars. Great Car. Look forward to the article.

Greg, You got me curious so I went and took a good look at the left side muffler. An yes, it does have an "A" embossed on it. No other markings. So I guess it is the original N11 muffler. Wow, a 50 year old muffler that is still usable. There is just some slight rust on the outside but no traces of "Blackout". Didn't the factory apply black paint onto the mufflers? Maybe it just wore away. And the front pipe has rust as well but is still solid.

Rocco, Well that is up for debate on the blackout. The 64 N11 I picked up like I said had some paint or blackout on them. Where they could not get to with out getting paint or blackout on other items there was none. this was the most original set I have seen. So as to the debate of blackout and when it happened (in factory or dealership ) I can not say. There was no OFF ROAD stamp on these. I was told that was replacement parts or to distinguish the N11 from the regular. As always others may know more. This is what is good about this hobby the figuring it all out not just the ribbons!

                  Rocco,

Beautiful original car! I also have a TI 350 car and you really don't see too many of these. Good to see another small block with TI, would love to talk with you about it one day. If you don't mind, I would like to add it to my database (small) of TI SB cars.

Rocco, sweet looking ride. A long time ago an old timer told me that the right side sees more puddles, sand ,mud etc as it is closer to the curb side of the road VS the left which is always on clean pavement. Just a theory I suppose. I got VERY lucky last Spring with a 67 coupe stashed away in a garage since 1988.Never seen before. The HUNT is the BEST PART. Enjoy that ride !
