I saw a thread on the CF about the difference. I thought the only difference on side exhaust shields & the under exhaust was the added rubber strip. Know there saying there are other differences. If so dose anyone repo them. My 67 is a real SP Corvette but had the outer shields replaced with the ones with the rubber seal. It was restored 30 years ago so it was not a top flight restoration.

Re: Outer splash shields with side exhaust
If you're talking about the filler piece being welded to the splash pan on BB and A/C cars, that started very late in the 65 model year (at least on BB cars). I see Wayne's 65 is #23564 and his has them. Mine, #16786 (a 2 owner - 29K mile car) and #16796 (a 15K mile car with multiple TF's, Duntov award etc.) does not have them.
P.S. Critter1's statement "also used for 65 and later with side mounted exhaust." is incorrect. The only thing the exhaust affected was whether or not the W/S was used.- Top
