Time to remove the msd 6a and go back to the T.I. amplifier. Any one have experience with Paragon's replacement module? P.O. cut harness and installed different plugs so amp could be removed as a anti theft measure. I know I'll need to get the harnesses to make it correct. Car is an original K66 car.

Re: Any experience with aftermarket T.I. amplifier module?
Thanks Bob. Does the K&B require a stock t.i. coil? My car has a msd 8207. The one on Paragon's website says it will work with any coil. My car has a 67 435 intake manifold and a stock coil won't fit inside the 69 distributor box and a 67 box just doesn't look right on the car. Seems the coil bracket mounting bosses are taller on the 67 manifold vs the 69 manifold I took off.- Top

I just went through this. You can buy a housing with no module at swap meets for 50 to 100 depending on if you want the curved edges on the bottom cover like original 65 thru 67 or a flat cover like the 68 and later ones had. There are vendors on eBay trying to hit a home run and get $300 for an original housing too.
You can buy the new module direct from K&B or any of the vendors (probably cost more) and a gasket from CC if you need one and assemble it yourself.
If you don't care about judging you can just buy the repro assy from any of the vendors but it be a small deduct on originality.- Top

Re: Any experience with aftermarket T.I. amplifier module?
My car is an original t.i. ignition car and I have the oem amplifier. I'll K&B tomorrow and see if their module will work with the coil I'm using. The one Paragon sells on their website says it will. If K&B's will work, I'll go with theirs. I already ordered the harnesses since the original owner cut the oem harnesses and replaced the plugs with a different style.- Top

Re: Any experience with aftermarket T.I. amplifier module?
I have had one in my car for almost 20 years with no problems. It is an original TI car. Car previously had a Mallory Unilite system with an MSD 6 box and MSD coil. Removed it all and installed complete TI system.- Top

I called K&B today and their module requires a t.i. ignition coil Looks like I'll have to go with the Paragon module unless i figure a way to fit the stock coil inside the distributor box.- Top
