    86 Alternator pulley ?

My neighbor bought a 86 customized vette. Very radical but I think most will like it. Will have to post pics later. The car came with a rebuilt alternator with the wrong pulley, a 5 groove instead of a 6 groove. He tossed a belt today because of the pulley. Anyone know what the part number is if he can't get it from his FLAPS? Help is appreciated!

Pulley was GM #10496580. It's GM-discontinued but there should be some for sale on eBay and elsewhere.

Joe, would the part number be stamped on it?

Unfortunately, no part number is stamped on the pulley. Very few Delco alternator pulleys have stamped part numbers which, of course, makes it very difficult to positively identify a pulley.
