    1968 K66 Ignition

I am assessing needs on a recently purchased 1968 L71 and notice that I am missing the K66 unit completely. I am not sure what distributor is in the car and, while not a priority at the moment, was wondering how rare a find this is:

Is this correct for my car?

Is this unit reproduced or is NOS the only option?

If they are not easy to come by I may buy it now so I have it when I am ready to properly convert the car back to transisterised ignition.

    Gregory,

The case is all you need as the circuit board is outdated technology. Suggest using new replacement circuit board. Harnesses available in reproduction also.

I'd pass on that as it's more than what you need.

As far as the amplifier is concerned, I'd do as Rich says. You don't need an NOS amplifier. You're better off just finding a restorable case and having the current circuit board installed. Used amps with restorable cases are going to be a lot more plentiful than NOS amps. In fact, you should be able to find a restored amplifier with the new circuit board already installed.

However, if this car has been running without the amp installed, that means that someone must have also installed a non-TI distributor. So, you're going to have to also find a correct TI distributor. That's going to be a more difficult and expensive challenge than the amp.
