    Ignition left in ON position

Accidentally left the key in the ON position for about 2 hours in my 67 Corvette. Could I have damaged anything?
The car is all stock with points. Once discovered what I did, I immediately started the car. It started right up so I took it for a ride. The battery gauge stayed on the plus side for the 25 minute entire ride. Checked the battery after the ride with the motor off and it was 12.8V. Should I check nothing else?

Unless the points were closed - which they obviously weren't or it wouldn't have started - you shouldn't have damaged anything else.

You are probably OK. Greatest chance of damage would have occurred if the points had been closed when you did it. Results would be possibly burned up points contacts and maybe a heated up coil. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Chip.

Thanks, really appreciate you thoughts. I was concerned about the points and voltage regulator but I feel better now.
