Was wondering if owners of 68s could post thier trim tag assembly date and glass date codes...windsheld, door glass and hardtops if known to be original to the car...thanks...

my trim tag -e13 side glass-cz driver side -az pas side. windshield has been changed.

My July coupe is in the airplane hangar. I'll get to it tomorrow. I am pretty sure the glass is original except for the removable rear glass which was replaced very early on.

Windshield: replaced

interesting, my coupe back glass is CZ and I tought that was too late for my car. I'll have to check again
EDIT: I see that CZ is November of 67 which makes it too early for my car according to NCRS guidelines but I suppose there is a chance that it is original because no coupes were delivered until January of 68 (I think) which means they had a backlog.

The NCRS glass limit is one year. Are you sure this back glass is too early for your car?

Another reason to own "The NCRS Judging Reference Manual." It lists all the "standard deductions" for batteries, tires, window glass, and many other items.

Yup. I own that. Probably should open it more! I'm not into the judging scene. I bought the guide right after I got the 68 some years ago and attended a local chapter meet.

Interesting...despite the judging rule of 1 year, it appears that most cars have glass within three months of assembly.

Can't explain mine though...June 14 assembly and both door glass are YX...October...I suppose both could have been broken and replaced at some point as the history before 1996 is not currently known...windshield is replaced...

Greg, since yours are dated 'after' your manufacture date, I would presume they are replacements. I never new service replacements were dated. Is that common knowledge?

I have a Feb 1968 Convertible with glass codes:
Windshield-replaced
Door- NX Jan 68'
Hardtop YZ Oct 67'
Mirror does t have a date...was it ever coded?

Richard, the answer to your question is 'partially'. The driver door rear view mirror was coded. The 'center' interior rear view mirror was not coded.
