I also had a used 202 coil the type used in 1964, I took the reading on it also.

Nice Job Richard, Big difference between the original and repro 087. Much appreciated. John

So what do the differences mean in terms of operation and performance? Is it Good or Bad?

The higher the secondary the better the performance, up to a point. The 087 is a little bit weak, definitely for a base motor.

So the 202 coil for normal driving would be a better choice of the three, disregarding correctness. Correct?

Not necessarily. The design of the points style ignition was to start with an optimum system and provide adequate performance over at least 12K miles while literally wearing out. The TI system fixed a lot of ignition problems but still wasn't up to the HEI. If not for emission standards, the TI
would have lasted a lot longer, because it did not have the wear problems & operated at a much lower voltage. Remember, it only takes a few thousand volts to start the spark kernel, a 50K "blaster" coil is useless & will short out most SP wires.
