1968-69 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide, 5th Edition

The 1968-69 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Information Guide, 5th Edition, is at the printers and will be for sale at Carlisle Events Swap Meet August 23rd through 27th. David King will have them for sale at the NCRS booth at Carlisle. I suspect they will be available online a few days before Carlisle and after Carlisle.

This new manual also has color pictures throughout the manual. Almost all of the pictures are of original, unrestored cars.

I just want to thank all the Team Members for their hard work in putting this new manual together.

      jeff,
I'll second your compliment. It is much deserved. Without Gary's organization, leadership and perserverence both the 68/69 and 70/72 Judging Guides would never have gotten to this point. Both are great accomplishments.

I agree with Dave. Gary took on a very difficult task, and through the help of a great team of judges has completed it. Many thanks to all who are listed as contributors.

Sorry guys, but I'll have to live with the 4th edition since I can't afford $80 plus $8 shipping. But my question is, has anything in the manual changed? I know the pictures are now in color, but is the "heart" of the manual still the same as the 4th edition? In other words, has anything new (new discoveries) been added or anything old (incorrect items) been deleted?

Thanks, and I KNOW it was a ton of effort to get this done.

              Ed,

Short answer is that almost nothing is the same. We did a ton of research on cars for this revision.
Just burn the 4th Edition and give the 5th a try.

Darn. I was afraid of that. I'll have to start saving up then.

                Thanks Pat

I just got mine and I can't believe how much work must have gone into this. Worth every penny and while some things are the same (after all L18 is still July 18) there is so much extra detail and I'm only a third of the way through.

                  Congratulations and thanks very much

I want to thank Gary and the whole team for the great job they did on the 5th Edition Manual. The color photos make it much easier to see the details being pointed out. Nothing close to this is available on the commercial market. Only through the passion, dedication, and hard work of our members is a publication with this much information and ease of use possible.
