Hi Don, Nice headers you have. Like the fact that you are using the green knob disconnect. GUys make fun of them as they say that are not reliable and cause issues.
He's the fix for those. You mean to massage them once in a while. Wash them in baking soda water. Little TLC and one of those green knobs jobs should last a long time.
I have to look at my 63 drive cable assembly on the car to compare it to yours. Yours seems to have a severe bend to it?
See you at Corvette Carlisle. Your buddy is going. John D

I agree with Don. I bought an AC-Delco labeled group 24 battery from Action Batteries Unlimited, Inc. here in Omaha, NE. for my '64 and '65 Corvettes and they fit perfectly. I also use the green knob battery cut-offs. Be using the same one on my '64 since 2004. In flight judging it received the standard deduction for a replacement OEM brand battery.

I've used the dreaded green knob battery disconnects on at least 10 different cars, without a single issue. I installed the one on my 1960 Corvette back in 1986. I've never had a problem with it either. Purchase one from a reliable dealer, most battery dealers sell them, and you won't have a problem. I think those that have had issues are using the ones you can buy at swap meets for a couple of dollars. IMHO, they are far superior to those ugly knife blade monstrosities.

          Jim,
While you may not like "those ugly knife blade monstrosities" those of us who have worked in the electrical field (as I have for over 40 years) much prefer a visible open in the circuit as a safety feature. Just like the colors of cars or a preference for one generation of Corvette over another we all make our choices in life and live with the consequences.

Tim, that is the right idea, if you put a battery mat down and a topper, not all group 24's work there are small differences that make the original hold downs not have enough thread.... everyone is different, the best advice is go to the store and test fit everything it will save you trips.

                  You're welcome Tim.

Now, can we talk about that horrible, ugly, knife blade monstrosity?

Just kidding. But, don't hurt yourself with that!
