    Seat Belt Storage Bracket

Has anyone tried to install a '65-'66 Seat Belt Storage Bracket on a '64 Console??

I am not having the car judged at all, just looking for somewhere to anchor the seat belts when not is use. Searched the archives, but did not see where anyone brought up this issue.

What barriers are there, if any??

    Thanks!

Why should you destroy a 64 ONLY console for that, just go purchase a use or repro one. Many people might know it but 64-66, this is the only one with NO holes in the rear for seat belt bracket.

I think it could easily be done by drilling the holes in the console to mount it. Don H.

Or make a bracket to go under console and secured there also, then no holes in your original console and you get the seat belt holder.

You can slip a block magnet (home depot) hidden underneath the side or front seat material, under the carpet, just about anywhere and the belt ends won't move.

I understand the frustration when the seat belt buckle drops down in the crack near the console and the 63 console is SO fragile and prone to scratches.... Some have used one of those seat gap fillers to hold the buckle...they come in many styles although I haven't tried one:

Why not use some 3m two side tape. As you can remove it with no problem.
