    1955 washer bracket confusion

    I thought I had this figured out until I read the Nolan Adams book!!! The washer bracket for auto 55's appears to be a round jar with a smooth ring per NA?? I believe the attached picture of the bracket is correct. When I set it on the fender it fits the holes but is not quiet level. any comments?

      The top I believe is a 53, I think the 55's nozzles are on the same side. I can fix this with rivets but stamp in the lid will not work for me

          the picture in Nolan's book is incorrect. The blueprint in that picture(you have the bottom part of the blueprint) is correct and is the blueprint of the bracket on the left.

                      The brackets I have seen that look correct have zinc, cad, galv smove and Parkerized. Any idea what the originals are? they look GALV to me thanks RDR

                          The NOS bracket I have borrowed look very good but had PATENT numbers in the front. I have never seen these numbers that far back????

                                  I do not see patent number on original bracket, but there is also a light coat of scale on bracket. the patent numbers would be in a hard place to see when installed. if someone did check the numbers, I believe the latest patent number on the bracket would be 2649332, which is issued between 1953 and 1954.
