Then I have been miss-informed, Jim. I was told that C4s had the battery below the computer. In fact, I have read threads with owners complaining about that. Perhaps it is a matter of only certain C4s have a computer below the battery. I should probably stick to what I know.

The computer was below the battery on C5's. Apparently the engineers didn't learn from the C4's. This caused many problems when the batteries began leaking at the terminal connections. The plant blamed AC Delco. Ac Delco blamed accused the plant of over tightening the connections. I had an Optima Red Top on my work bench waiting for the arrival of my new 02. The original battery is still sitting on the shelf.

Winter air is much drier than the summer unless you are on the coast so moisture is not a problem. At the very least DO NOT keep a tender on the battery as it will create fumes in the bagged car that will not be good for anything. If it is a sealed battery you should be able to leave it in the car.
