I need a little help with my 65 L76 rubber fuel line that goes from the fuel filter on top of the valve cover to the carb. The fuel filter fitting and the carb banjo fitting are both 5/16".My carb guy says 5/16 is the standard Holley fitting. The Doctor Rebuild hose seems to be 3/8". Using 3/8 hose or even 5/16 hose I cannot get a good reliable seal using the spring clamps. I have tried NOS original clamps with the flat tops and also new spring clamps but the seal is not satisfactory. I can seal the connection with band clamps that have a hex screw. I can force on 1/4 " hose and seal with spring clamps but I doubt that hose is correct. Is there any way to seal this hose safely and still pass NCRS judging? Am I working with the wrong parts? Most of all, due to the precarious positioning of this rubber line on top of the motor I want a good seal. Thanks for any help. Bill Gould
