    Re: Two Post lift

I would say a two post is no harder. You would need about 3 people or equipment to lower the posts tho.

Moving any lift is only a little more difficult than setting it up initially. The main difficulty is when initially installing you can lift it from one end with a couple of guys. Yes its heavy but it can be done. When taking one down, it has to be lifted straight up at least a couple of inches to clear the bolts that hold it to the floor. You could cut the bolts off level with the base of the lift which make it a little easier to lift but its still tough. This is what makes it harder to move than initially install. Other than that its not too difficult.

Most four posters come with four large levers with steel wheels. You attach the levers, then lower the lift so the wheels are levered on to the floor.

When i installed my 2 post lift i used a chain fall hung from my rafters to lift it into place. If i ever have to remove i will do the same just lift over anchors and lay it down on a dolly.

Easy to do with a engine hoist and a strap choker. Just keep the boom short on the hoist.

Yes my four poster has those caster attachments you describe. The only issue comes when someone has anchored their four post down, as some do, but with the casters typically you can lift the posts high enough to clear the bolts. If not you could lower it back down off the caster and cut the bolts off, same as with the two post.

I used a fork lift to do mine.

I used my John Deere tractor with my Tree Boom attachment and straps. I don't have a photo of that particular process but here's a shot of the tractor and boom. Myself and one friend did this.

When in position it was bolted to the floor using anchors.
