    Glass - Removing scratches

    Just looking for some thoughts.

I have a spare set of rear 63 glass with some scratches. I started with black 1500 grit paper and water. No affect.

Anyone have a grit number to start at or a good process to follow?

    Thanks.

I used the Eastwood glass polishing kit, it worked great, but takes lots of time, patience, and attention to being gentle.

Most of the kits are cereium oxide and take some serious elbow work....and a bit of care not to overheat the glass...
If the scratch is light you can be successful; if its deep you'll prob get some distortion in removing it, not good on a windshield, on other glass not so much. Its a messy job too.

Do a search on the discussion board. A few years ago someone posted a good how to article on polishing scratches out of a windshield.
