Should I replace my brake press monitoring switch?

    Guys,

Trying to decide if I should replace my brake press monitoring switch. No idea if it was working properly before disassembly (ten yrs ago). Do these fail? Can the be rebuilt? Can they be tested?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Lone Star rebuilds them as well as sell current reproductions. Probably not a bad idea to replace or rebuild the old one, although you could take a chance. Worst case is it may provide a false positive or not illuminate at all if you have a front or rear brake system failure.

But in the event of a failure, you should notice it whether the brake light in the dash goes on or not.
