    Mike,

Great job! Thanks as I have saved the pictures for my next experience. I have always had problems with the strap slipping especially with the 63 springs as they seem to have more curve. I usually put a C-clamp on the strap at the spring to keep it from slipping.
    Thanks again, JR

Michael...great description and photos...how about sending the text and photos to me so I can publish it in an upcoming issue of The Restorer so all 14,000+ members can benefit, not just the ones that visit the TDB...

Michael, It may be an illusion in your photos but the upper bolts for the shocks appear to be going in from the outboard side. They need to go in from the inboard side and the lockwasher goes on the bolt head side. If you insert the bolt from the outboard side, it will not come out once the body in on.

Thanks for the catch Jim. I'll be back working on the car tomorrow and will be sure to check that out. Always good to have extra sets of eagle eyes taking a look at your work, especially for a novice like myself!

Good eye Jim. You saved someone a lot of work next time the shocks need to be removed...... likely via Sawzall or equiv.

Since he has to change the bolt direction, should we mention the shock color?

I agree, Jim does have a good eye. I must have used the illustration in the Paragon catalog as my guide. I will double check the AIM but regardless, I will be switching the orientation of that upper bolt when I get back down to work on the car this week. It will save me using some inappropriate language at some date in the future!

LOL. No need to mention the shock color! I'm not planning to have the car judged. But keep the eagle eye open. I do appreciate the help.

I apologize, I'm wrong! The bolt DOES go in from the outboard side. I was thinking the body fell outboard of the frame but it falls inboard. Sorry for the confusion.
