Mike, I think a lot depends on how many members the chapter has and just how much area is covered by your chapter and other nearby chapters.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

I agree, it will vary by chapter, but I am just interested in how that all looks.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
Our Nebraska Chapter normally has to limited the number of judged corvettes at our chapter judging meet. With the help of a few members from outside of our chapter that are master judges, we normally judge 2 Corvettes at our meet.

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
The number of judged cars at a chapter meet is limited. Even though our membership is 150+, we barely have enough judges to fill the slots if there are several car generations present. Our most recent meet had C2, C3, and C6. One class was a four-man team that had to do two sections each, which is a usual situation with the newer cars. We have lots of judges for C2 and C3, and not everyone gets his first choice.- Top

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
Michael,
Texas Chapter learned that lesson 20 years and here's the remedy:
1) limit judged cars to 8 or 6 per Chapter meet - Texas has 2 or 3 Chapter Judging annual meets
2) car owners must Judge

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
I don't know about chapter meets, but based on personal experience in San Antonio and the last few Frisco Regionals, it seems they have more judge volunteers than they need. I seem to get my alternate choice or not selected at all.

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
I think the FL chapter is a bit unique. We conduct the chapter meets in late fall and spring. This attracts "snow birds" who are wintering in Florida to join our judging teams and many of these ladies and gentlemen are master judges. Obviously, this raises the quality of the judging and coverage. We also usually have a full field. There are always C1's and C2's being judged. I have attended only one meet that didn't have at least 1 C3. It is also not unusual for us to have a C4 or C5 to judge. I feel blessed by all I have been able to learn at our chapter meets due to consistently being matched with a master judge who had the time (and patience) to teach me while we judged and they have always allowed me to judge whatever category I wanted on whatever generation I wanted.
I haven't attended another chapter's meet so I'm only guessing but my guess is that FL chapter meets are better than most due to all the visiting judges - plus all of the really knowledgeable people in our own chapter.'69 Blue/Blue L36 Vert w/ 4-Spd

Re: Poll on judging situation at your chapter:
Thanks all for some great insights. I know I have joined 5 nearby chapters to have more opportunities to judge, and it always seems I am very welcome when I sign up for a chapter meet. Someday I may take a car to more chapters, but so far my home chapter seems to have enough opportunities to be judged. Thanks for everyone's inputs.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
