    Doors for Gary

    Gary
Here are some pictures that may help clear up the implied no whiskers on 68 door panels statement. It's true that the whiskers are not on the panel but I think they are present on the door itself. Interesting, there are some signatures on the inside of my panels that these same people did the same thing to another NCRS members panels. That first picture is the one we looked at this weekend. That AIM has a note from the GM HQ about the rubber insert.

    Re: Doors for Gary

Thank you, thank you. I have saved these and will use a couple when I go back and update the 68-69 manual.
I like the autographed door panels. LOTS of different things will have initials, signatures, etc on them. Most convertible top tags have a person name on them also.
    Appreciate the help.

Remember me telling you about the 68 C60 compressor muffler and me taking the rounded type off my car for the square type? Well, I think I can kind of see the progression of the muffler types. I changed on the advice of those, in the know, that the square muffler was correct for 68 and later and that the pictures in the AIM were sometimes incorrect and only for reference. I don't think that the case here as 68 was actually very different from the 67 and definitely not a carry over drawing from 67. If anything the 69 was a carryover from the 68 drawing, see AIM. Why would they make up a depiction of a muffler never used. It's like going directly from the rounded 67 to the square type used on the latter cars and using a made up drawing for the 68 AIM. I have one so its not just a drawing. Anyway, I need a picture of the 70 and maybe the 71 muffler (out of the AIM) with the Part Numbers. If you have some I would appreciate a copy. I'll send pictures without text to follow as they sometimes imbed in the text and make it hard to read.
