    70 Head Lamp Door Switch

    Hi all-

Is there a head lamp door switch, 3951239, adjustment one can make? The interior lamp on center console sometimes wants to light when the headlights are turned on saying that the light is lit when the doors are closed.

Is this switch on the drivers side or passenger side of the head lights?

    Many thanks.

    John

There is a switch on both sides, and they do fail occasionally. From my recollection there is no adjustment but others may be more knowledgeable than I am about that.

Either head lamp door switch can/will illuminate the interior center console light independently of each other, which means the warning system will function correctly with only one switch plugged in.

To trouble shoot a bad switch, simply unplug one switch at a time and see if the problem goes away. If it does, that's the bad switch. In the unlikely event that both switches are at fault, the problem will remain no matter which side is unplugged.

If the headlight door linkage isn't locking in place correctly in the up position, the buttons won't depress and light stays on.
If this is the case then the linkage will require adjusting.

This system is a closed circuit until buttons are depressed which opens the circuit and shuts the light off.

Unplug one switch at a time to verify which is the issue.

Then verify if switch is the issue or linkage adjustment.

          Good luck !!!
