    Take the spring out of the oil pump currently on the motor, and install it into the new oil pump.
    Seemingly all new oil pumps - even the alleged stock ones - have the High Pressure spring in them.

      Well no one can say you didn't do you do diligence!
      When I worked in Predictive Maintenance we did our best to identify the most likely place to fault find. Sometimes it was nothing more than a best guess. However it was always the guys that pulled the machine apart that got the final word on the fault or condition. Best of luck to you and please let us know what you find.
