    C2 spark plug wire routing

I would appreciate if someone could provide me the correct spark plug wire routing especially around front motor mounts for my 340HP car. I have the correct wires/supports and shielding.
    Thanks

For cylinders 1-3 and 2-4 the wires run through the motor mounts. It can be a little tricky to install them you have two options loosen up the motor mounts and jack up the engine or I removed the ends of the plug wires to allow the wires to feed through the motor mount then reinstalled after. If you are using the reproduction wires you must be very careful as you can pull the conductor wire right out of the end connector. There are pictures of the installation of the shielding in the AIM and the wires run in the shielding all the way from the distributor to the spark plug. It can be a little time consuming to perform this task I think that's why many of the cars are missing part of or all of the shielding parts.

      Thanks Bob
That is what I thought. The last time I put plug wires on the car I had the motor out of the car. I just purchased a new set of correct wiring so I did not want to disrupt the end terminations. After I posted the request for info I went back to my garage and removed two of the motor mount bolts (passenger side) supported the engine and came back to see if there was some other workaround. So goes any easier way. But, the winter is long so I have the time. Thanks again for the feedback.

Don't forget two of the wires run through the clips that attaches to the pan bolts.
And the small 'L" shaped clips that attach to the same bolt that mounts the lower heat shields.

I did this just recently on the 63 by removing the plug wire ends....tedious and a potential for damage but it worked...a bit of silicone grease made it easier sliding things around.

Thanks Guys for the input but I am in the process of removing motor mount hardware to avoid any issues with my new plug wires. It may take a bit longer but I am not using the car at this time of year.
            Thanks again

When I replaced the spark plug wires on my L79 and C60 equipped "65, I had the advantage of using my 4-post lift. I found that using some WD40 on the distributor end wiring boots and feeding the distributor end wiring boots through the motor mounts is the way to go rather than trying to force the spark plug boots through between the motor mount and the block. It's still a tight squeeze but they will go through.

              Just my 2 cents worth.

Just did same car. Tape a 12 or 14 gage stranded insulated wire to the distributor end of the ignition wire from behind and over the boot making the boot a tight, smooth shape and pull it thru the mount from the spark plug side feeding the 14 gage wire through first. Takes only a few minutes with no stress on the end connection.
