I have attached a photo of a 65 coupe body mount, right side in front of rear wheel. The 2 pop rivets shown, what could they be for, there is 2 on the left side also?

My '66 has those too, as do my '64s, I have no idea what they are for.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: 65 vette, extra rivets by body mount?
There should be 2 rivets on each side of the car. There are used to secure the luggage stop panel that's behind the seats. My A.O.Smith 65 had pop-rivets. My St.Louis 65 had solid aluminum rivets.- Top

Re: 65 vette, extra rivets by body mount?
This picture is with the rear fender removed, showing the other side of the rivets. I think the rivets were intended to be attached to the green birdcage structure, but most of the cars I have observed the factory guys missed there mark? Any other answers?Attached Files- Top

Re: 65 vette, extra rivets by body mount?
I stand corrected. The rivets I was referring to are to the inside of the body mount. After re-examining the O.P.'s pic. I see he's referring to the ones to the outside of the mount.- Top
