I give. How is it pronounced? "Mow-sport"? "Moss-port"?

Larry...yes you are correct, and if you look on page 4 of the Nov/Dec 2019 Driveline, the same photo appears and we ran a contest to identify it...amazing how people have such short memories...

The picture is of the Corvette Corral at Sebring in 1966. The photo was published on the back cover of the Corvette News Vol. 9 No.5.

The correct pronunciation of the tracks name Mosport is the the first you cite, Moe Sport or Mow Sport as you put it. An acronym for Motor Sport. The vast majority even those somewhat local mispronounce it as the second word you cite, Moss Port. An example I suppose that language is a living thing that evolves. My brother-in-law corrected me years ago. He was full time technician for Timothy Eaton a wealthy Canadian who raced a Cobra. He would bring the car home from Toronto to continue work.

                        A BIT OF HISTORY:
continued to thrive and recorded increasing sales levels year after year. In a short period of time, Three-Way Chevrolet gained national recognition and was named a Charter Member of Chevrolet Genuine Leaders. This presti-gious award was presented to a small select group of dealers from a pool of over 4,200 Chevrolet dealers nationally. Fostering community ideals and providing each guest with exceptional service has been the goal at Three-Way Chevrolet for over 56 years. In order to expand our product offerings, Three-Way Chevrolet purchased the Dealership franchise in 2003. We are extremely proud of being able to represent the finest automobile manufactured; as standard that all other manufacturers aspire to achieve.

In August of 2006, Three-Way once again packed its bags and moved to a 70,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art dealership facility built on 15 acres located at 4501 Wible Rd.

Bought this '63 roadster in the summer of 1972 after getting out of the Army that spring. This photo is from September 1972. I paid $1400 for it. It had a NOM 283 and had a prior life as a drag car, painted orange and called the "Super Chief". It was a sweet little ride, was originally fawn beige I believe. Still wish I had those American Mags. Traded this roadster in March 1977 for the Nassau blue '66 coupe we have today. Nice thread-starter Don!
