Applegate Chevrolet in Flint, Michigan, the birthplace of the Corvette (and me also). Founded in 1928 by Clyde Applegate, son Jim took over for him and passed away in 2019 at the age of 90. Dealership is still in existence but not sure who owns it.

On the right, just above the '56 CHEVROLET sign, you can see the artistic towers that (until about 20 years ago) decorated the main building and showroom. Here's a photo I took of that "main building" on 12/16/2021.

https://davisonindex.mihomepaper.com...ate-chevrolet/. tells who the managers are, but I could not find today's owner.

I also found this sign, which (on the 'net) is said to be an older Applegate sign on Saginaw St.

Re: POST OLD PICTURES of CORVETTES HERE - NOSTALGIA

Sam Armstrong, along with Kathleen H Armstrong at Hershey hillclimb. Mike Oleyar let Sam Armstrong drive his GREEN '65 Coupe on this day. Probably was MIke's first Corvette. He later bought Sam's Nassau blue one, and many others. Oleyar's number 51 replaced by Sam's number 74 for this run.

Notice other cars in the background. And...

It was meant to be a Tribute Flag. When John Hinkley sent me his "67 327" plate, then Art Armstrong sent me Dale Pearman's "VAROOM" plate. When Paul Comea bought Joe Ciaravino"s car I asked if his "365SHP" was available, he sent it, great bunch of Vetteheads . Then I lost Liz shortly after her mother. Now it's a Memorial Flag, Liz is surrounded in "MEMORYS" her Mom is a little to the left, a couple friends wanted to be on

Scott- The FAQs link is in the smallest tool bar above under the club banner. How Do I Post a Photo describes the process:How do I post a Photo?

Photos can be posted by clicking on the image in the editor screen..
This will bring up a box where you can browse on your computer for the image you wish to upload, or you can upload an image from a URL. URL is a link directly to the photo from a location on the internet.
There are limits to the size and number of photos allowed to be posted. Full size camera images would soon fill the server’s storage space.
Typical camera photos can be from 5 to 15 megabytes in size. The limit for posting here is 300 kilobytes. If the photo is larger than that the server will resize it to 800px x 600 px. A typical photo I tested from my camera was 12.4 meg in size. 2544 X 1696 pixels. That is 35 inches by 23.5 inches in size. That means that you would have to scroll your screen from top to bottom and from side to side to see the entire picture.
In order to have a little control over the optimization rather than depend on the server software to automatically do it I optimized the photo so I could upload it to the forum. After optimization this picture is 800 X 533 pixels and reduced to 256 colors. After optimization it is only 57 kb in size and works well.
Many of the image editing programs that come with printers and with cameras will optimize a photo for the web. I can not begin to tell anyone how to use the programs that you have with your printer/camera, but look in the help file of your program for Web Ready or Optimized. These terms will lead you to what you need to find out how your program will reduce a photo so that you can post it here.
Another option if you don't have a good photo editor is to use the Freeware Program Irfan View. It has been around a long time and is highly rated by all of the sites that rate programs. I haven't used it in years, but it is supposed to be easy enough for a beginner and good enough for some decent editing of photos. You can download it from many sites. Here is one that I have trusted for years. Download.com
Another newer choice is available I ran across this easy to use and powerful image resize software that might work well for you to create smaller images to upload to the webserver.
It is called VSO Image Resizer and it is Free!
Here is a Demo Video of the software
Here is a link where you can download the software if you like.
I have not used it, but it comes from a trusted source and the video looks like it would work great for what you are going to do.
You can upload a Maximum of FOUR photos or files or links per post! More than 4 will cause a 403 error. Repeated attempts & you will be locked out! Contact the Helpdesk to be unblocked.

Also, if you want to practice posting photos, go to the TEST forum and write a post, and practice including photos. Then come back to the Tech forum to post in the Old Photos thread. email me if you need assistance..
