The SN of the 64 could tell a lot about the Corvette.

If you would share it would be helpful.

Wow, Stewart, thanks for that. I just pulled the body on my '66 that the original owner swore came with P48 option, and there is some faint writing like that I will now need to be very careful with during cleanup and restoration of the frame.

You look for all possible evidence to confirm that the car originally came with each RPO item. In the case of the wheels there is the hammer, instructions, sticker on jack board and the longer tub bolts. You weigh the evidence and form a conclusion. If evidence says the RPO was added, you take full deduct on the option.
        Your opinion may be different.

The judges don't need to ask the owner anything about options. They judge the car as presented.
And if the judge is looking at evidence that is reproduction the case for an added option that the car didn’t come with is more likely.

1964 Corvettes equipped with the P48 wheel option on April 28, 1964 or after will have the knock-off wheel card in the glove box contents. Cars produced before that date should not have the wheel instruction card. My car was built on Jan. 18th and did not have the wheel card.
