1978 Rear Window Trim

I know in the past there has been limited discussion regarding the rear window trim of a 1978 regular production car being partially black and outer part being the natural stainless steel. But just wanted to know if there has been any up date as to how the judging views this issue? My car is number 19248 built in February 1978 a 25th anniversary. I read that some early cars were all natural SS and later cars were black and SS. What is an earlier car and what is a later car?

My 78 was built on Valentines Day has the trim exactly as you describe. VIN # 209xx.

I have a November 1977 build VIN 9941 and it has all stainless steel trim.

Okay that confirms the 2 different styles of trim for the 78 model year.

GM parts book actually lists 3 including the pace car. 1st design all aluminum, 2nd design black and aluminum, and Pace Car all black.
